I like Chai, and I love the Starbucks version with steamed milk! Get yourself a milk foaming thing (preferable one that fits in the microwave), huge cups, and enjoy! The recipe is for 2 persons - my milk foamer doesn't hold more milk. I prepare a lot of the mixture - 100 g tea is about 24 tsp (yes, I measured!), so multiply the rest of the ingredients by 8.
Let the tea mix sit for at least one day. Brew a tea with about 3 tsp of the mixture and about 1 l of boiling water. Let steep for about 5 minutes. Foam 250 ml milk. Pour tea into 2 cups, add honey to taste (1 tbsp?), and gently pour in the milk. Garnish with some cinnamon. Heavenly!
For one loaf, but you can easily double it.
whole-wheat flour)
Mix the sugar into the water, add the yeast. When it bubbles, add 250 g flour, stirring until it's all a grey-brown goop. Put the rest of the flour and then the salt on top of the mixture. Leave to stand until the dry flour has big cracks. Knead the whole dough together. Leave to rest until double, about 40 minutes. Knead, put into a loaf pan. Leave to rest while preheating the oven. Bake at 175° C for about 1 hour. Bread is done when tapping it makes a hollow sound. You can also add fried onions, or any kinds of seeds (sunflower, poppy, sesame) before putting into the loaf pan.
